Welcome to Kindergarten!

Introduction

I spent my first 3 years of teaching in the Concrete School District before moving to Arlington School District in 2006.  I have taught nearly every grade PreK-8th grade in Special Education and it continues to be a group near and dear to my heart.  I moved to Kindergarten in 2011 and found my students and their unique abilities a rewarding opportunity that turned into a passion for early learning!

As a teacher, I believe...

-----Every child can learn-----Kids learn best through play-----Parents are a child's first and most important teacher-----Student, family, and school relationships are essential-----My students will always be "my kids"-----All students need love, support, and boundaries for success-----My door is always open-----Feedback from my students and families is valued to better my practice-----Our classroom is a community and we help each other-----Learning should be fun-----High expectations promote achievement-----

Family

I moved a lot as a child, but my mom, dad, brother and I settled in Mount Vernon, WA when I was in the 3rd grade and consider it my hometown.  My husband, Dan, and I live in Conway, WA with our 2 kids Allyson, born in 2005, and Jacob, born in 2008.  We love spending our free time as a family and are pretty involved in our local community.
